About Us
Our Mission
LA Hawks Basketball Club is dedicated to providing a competitive program for student athletes who are committed to developing in the areas of athletic and academic excellence. It is our purpose to provide an environment that fosters leadership, sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity with a strong focus on teamwork and family.
Our History
Founded in 2009 by Michael Gayle and Ib Belou, LA Hawks Basketball is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit AAU Basketball Club serving the greater Los Angeles area.
In 2022, former LA Hawks Head Coach Vinny Espinoza took over as director of our program and will continue the legacy of LA Hawks Basketball.
About Coach Vinny
Vinny has more than 12 years of coaching experience in basketball, including youth, middle school, and high school. When he was a student at Crescenta Valley High School, he played basketball for four years, including two years on the Varsity team. In 2011, Vinny became Head Coach for the LA Hawks, and now he's the director of the program. He's also been the Head Coach for the Pasadena Waldorf Academy Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team and the Wilson Middle School Girls’ Basketball Team. Vinny even helped out as an Assistant Basketball Coach at Crescenta Valley High School, supporting the development of young players. He is currently serving as Head Coach of the Boys' Varsity Basketball Team at New Covenant Academy.
